We were asked to help a lady who had recently become widowed after her husband died. She gave up work to care for him when his dementia meant he couldn’t be left alone any longer. She is in receipt of pension and a top up of Universal Credit, and once all her bills are paid she is left with £14 to live on. Our agents want to apply for a debt relief order for her as her debts are causing extreme anxiety and she simply isn’t coping. We agreed to send them the £90 so they could apply for a debt relief order on her behalf.
